Our History
A Legacy of Gospel Music
The Gospel Music Workshop of America (GMWA) was founded in 1967 by the legendary Rev. James Cleveland to nurture, develop, and preserve gospel music through education, fellowship, and praise.
The Dallas Chapter was reorganized in 1995 and has since grown into one of the most vibrant chapters in the organization. Currently led by Samuel Britt as Chapter Representative, the chapter aims to promote gospel music in the Dallas area by bringing together musicians, local churches, community choirs, and ensembles into a unified entity.
The chapter is not only an award-winning community choir but also a welcoming ministry where everyone can come to experience and learn how to minister gospel music to make a positive impact on the kingdom.
